Broadway in your backyard.
In 1980, Turtle Lane Players began as a spinoff from a group at the Vokes Theatre in Wayland. These players mounted a production of Godspell so popular that it was first transferred to downtown Boston and then toured suburbia. Rehearsals were held at the home of a cast member who lived on Turtle Lane in Dover.

Other shows were hatched and a new theater group was born! The group needed a home of its own, so the old Auburndale Club was purchased in 1979 and renovated. The basement bowling alley was replaced by dressing rooms and a workshop for set creation. The stage, auditorium, pub, restrooms, and kitchen remain on the first floor. Upstairs are the administration offices and costume workshops. Air conditioning was added in 1992.
